Based on the using environment, It can be divided into two types
- Indoor led screen: Indoor led screen normally needs smaller pixel pitch(from 0.9-3mm) , low brightness around 600-1000nits, wide viewing angle, light weight, suitable for short distance watching. IP40 is OK
- Outdoor led screen: It needs a high brightness from 4000-10000nits, as we normally would watch it from afar, so the pixel pitch is normally bigger than indoor led screen (from 5mm-50mm). As it is installed outdoor, so it would need waterproof, anti-Uv, anti-wind, at least IP65 rated.
Based on the color of the led screen, it can be divided into 3 types
- Full color led screen, Full color led screen’s pixel is using RGB LED lamps, which are able to give out red, green and blue light, through different brightness of the red, green and blue light, it can show different colors. Hence the screen can also show full color video or images.
- Double color led screen, Double color led screen’s pixel uses two color led lamps. Hence it can only show two colors, normally this type of led screen is popular using in traffic guiding screen.
- Single color led screen, Single color led screen’s pixel uses only one type color led lamp, hence it can only show one color, the most popular color is red and white. This is very popular in shop sign usage to display words.
Based on the applications, It can be divided into two different types of led screen
- Rental usage: As the rental led screen need to assembly and disassembly from time to time, and also need to transport from place to place. Rental led screen normally is lightweight, and equipped with quick locker for easy installation, packed in flight case for easy transportation and well protection.
- Fixed installation led screen: Fixed installation led screen, is the kind of led screen fixed installed whether on a wall or on a building surface or on a pillar. From different installation place, it would need different requirements. Indoor fixed installation led screen normally need a small pixel pitch. Based on the pixel pitch, it can be divide into 3 types of led screen
- small pixel pitch led screen: also called as fine pixel pitch led screen, in the beginning we call led screen with pixel pitch less than 2.5mm as small pixel pitch led screen. With the led screen’s developments, now we can make the smallest pixel pitch to be 0.6mm. While when take the budget into consideration, now pixel pitch 1.875mm, 1.56mm and 1.25mm is the most popular small pixel pitch led screen
- Ordinary pixel pitch led screen: pixel pitch from 3mm – 15mm is the range for ordinary led screen, as with this range of led screen, it is able to provide a accept resolution to display a distinguishable video or images. Pixel pitch bigger than 15mm, would need a very big size to able to display normal videos.
- Lighting purpose led screen: When pixel pitch over 15mm, such as pixel pitch 50mm, 100mm, 200mm, normally, this type of led screen is not used for display videos or images, but mainly used for lighting purpose. Display some big dots.

- Asynchronous system led screen
