Why Hs code is important?
Hs code is very important in international trade. Every time you try to buy something from aboard, you need to know the HS code for that product. It mainly severs three functions of which are very important.
1: The HS code is used to categorize product, It has sorted the product into a certain code. Hence it would be easy for the government to TAX certain products.
2: The Hs code can be used to trace a certain country’s import and export data on certain products. And also the import and export status.
3: As the Hs code is universal (the first 6 digits), Hence it is much easier for the product to do custom clearance between boards.
How many digits does Hs code consist?
The Hs code has been developed and maintained by the World Customs Organization (WCO). It has 6 digits, which consist around 5500 product code that covers all the product traded in the international market. While you may feel confused that in your country, the Hs code you used is more than 6 digits. This is because the WCO allow different country to make change – by adding more digits following the orignial 6 digits.
For example, In USA they use 10 digits for the Hs code
In China, They use 13 digits for the Hs code
In Japan, They use 9 digits for the Hs code
In Koren，They use 10 digits for the Hs code
In UAE，They use 10 digits for the Hs code
In UK，They use 10 digits for the Hs code
In Europe, They use 10 digits for the Hs code
What’s the HS code for Led screen?
As the Hs code is representing a group of similar function products or related products, from different view of a certain product, it is possible that it can be categorize into different groups. hence a certain product might have several Hs code. As the tariff rate is determined by the Hs code, hence it is possible that you can have different tariff rates by using different HS code.
As for the LED screen business, There are two categories of product need HS code.
1: LED Screen/LED Display
2: LED Screen accessories like spare parts, LED board, Hub Board, and power supplier for LED screen.
1: HS code for LED screen
For a certain product, it would have different descriptions from a different viewing angle. And different descriptions would have different HS code, and would cause different tariff rate. The most common discription for led scree has, 1: LED screen, 2: LED display, 3: Digital signage,4: Led digital sign and so on. The HS code for them are also different
LED screen and LED display normally use the HS code 852859( Monitors, other than cathode-ray tube monitors, nes – Canadian Importers Database (CID))
Digital Signage and LED digital sign normally use the HS code 853120 (Indicator Panels Incorporating Liquid Crystal Devices (lcd’s) Or Light Emitting Diodes (led’s))

2: HS code for Led screen accessories
LED screen accessories has many different product, such as 1:controller, 2: supporting frame, 3: LED screen components, 4: cables. With different accessories, as it can have different descriptions, hence it can use different HS code. Normally we use 8529909090 (Other parts for the apparatus or equipment of headings No.85.25 to 85.28)
