What is P10 LED Display?
P10 LED Display means the led display with the pixel pitch of around 10mm. Different cabinet size would have slightly difference. For the outdoor application, the best selling cabinet size are 960mm * 960mm, and 1000mm * 1000mm (1000mm * 500mm).
When the cabinet size is 960*960mm, then the pixel pitch of this cabinet is 10mm, with the cabinet’s resolution 96*96 ( the reason is that, the driving IC has 16 channel which can control 16 led lamps, then to maximize the usage of the IC, the row pixel or the column pixel should be multiple of 16).
When the cabinet size is 1000mm*1000mm, then the pixel pitch of this cabinet is 10.4mm. Its cabinet’s resolution is also 96*96.
We call pixel pitch 10.4mm, and 10mm led display to be P10 led display. While as it need supporting frame to install the outdoor led display, hence when you decide to replace an old led display, you need to check if your old led screen’s cabinet size, otherwise it might not be compatible.
Why choose P10 LED Display?
We all know that for a certain size led screen, the smaller the pixel pitch, the higher the resolution, the better the visual effects, and the more details it can show. Now in the market, the smallest fixed outdoor led display’s pixel pitch can reach 2.6mm. But why the customers still purchase P10 led display for outdoor applications the most? It mainly has 3 reasons.
Reason 1: Viewing distance of the application
Most outdoor led display are installed on a tall building, or tall pillar. The shortest viewing distance from the led display would be more than 15m away. And based on the viewing distance, pixel pitch 10mm is already good enough to offer a pixel none detectable visual experience. Even if the pixel pitch is smaller, with such distance, the visual effect also won’t change much.
Reason 2: Fewer components, fewer fault parts
P10 LED display would have fewer components than a smaller pixel pitch LED display, which means it has less faulty possibilities. For example:
For 1 sqm P10mm led display, it has 10,000 pcs led lamp, while for 1 sqm pixel pitch 5.7mm led display it has 32,272 pcs LED lamp. If the LED lamp has the same faulty rate, then the pixel pitch 5.7mm would have 3 times more faulty LED lamp within the same size.
Reason 3: Cost-effective
P10 led display is well balanced choice of cost and visual effect, for the outdoor led display, normally the project size would be several hundred sqm, and P10 can save a lot of money while still delivering a good visual effect.

P10 LED Display is normally outdoor led display, It mainly has two kinds.
Type 1: P10 Transparent LED Display
Transparent LED Display’s cabinet size is normally 1000mm * 1000mm or 1000mm * 500mm, hence the pixel pitch is 10.4mm. With at least IP65 rated, it offers a brightness of over 5000nits. Now with special lense lamps, the brightness can reach 10000nits, which made it readable even under direct sunlight expose.
Type 2: Traditional P10 outdoor LED Display
Traditional P10 outdoor LED Display uses a rigid cabinet, the cabinet size has 960mm * 960mm, and 1000mm * 1000mm. Due to the high brightness requirements, heat dissipation is a big problem before. Now we have common cathode design which not only can save 30% of the power consumption, but also reduce a lot of heat which made fanless design possible. Brightness over 10000nits is also possible with such design
Price of the P10 LED Display
The price of the P10 led display depends on what specs you use. Take our popular common cathode P10 outdoor led display for example. It’s cabinet size 960mm*960mm, pixel pitch 10mm, scan rate is 8. The main material for a cabinet breakdown as below:
Total qty of led lamp used: 96*96 = 9216pcs
Total qty of IC used: 96*96*3/16/8 = 216pcs
Power supplier qty used : 2pcs 400W
PCB board used : 0.96*0.96 = 0.9216sqm
Connection Socket plug: 2 set
Cabinet frame used: 1 set
The price for the cabinet, and PCB board is similar. While for different brand led lamp, the price difference range can from 2-5USD/K. For different brand IC, the price difference can be 0.1USD/pcs. For different brand power suppliers, the price different can be 40USD/pcs. And for different brand plugs, it also would have huge price differences.

P10 led display controller
It mainly has two different LED Display controllers. one is synchronizes led display controller(Such as mctrl 300, H2, Mctrl4K, VX1000) , the other is asynchronous led display controller (such as TB30, TB50, and TB60)
Benefits of asynchronous led display controller:
1: The displaying content can be stored in the led controller, hence do not need computer or media player box.
2: We can upload and change the display content remotely
3: 4G service is available, hence you do not need to worry about the remote control
Drawback of Asynchronous led display controller:
1: The Maximum carry ability of the asynchronous led controller is 2.4milion pixels (TB60), hence it can not control a higher resolution led display as 4K.
2: Less function than Synchronize controller.

1: The LED display displays what’s on the computer in real-time. Hence it can have quick and real-time responses. especially in interactive applications
2: Advanced video processor available, such as multiple video source possible, and Picture in picture function.

Drawback of Synchronize controller
1: Price is expensive
2: Need a computer or extra media server to provide the video source
3:More complex in setting
