As led screen is not an easy investment, When you plan to  buy a led  screen, Two question would always come to your mind, what about the quality of this led screen, and how much does it cost? First I got say, there are no best led screen in the market. The one that suitable with your needs and within your budget is the best screen. In order to make you buy the most Quality/price ratio led screen, Here are the top 6 factors that would determine the quality of the led screen as well as the price of the led screen.

 

LED lamp: As LED Screen’s pixel are made up by led lamp, hence the quality of the led lamp directly determine the quality of the led screen. As each pixel actually consist three sub pixels ( red pixel, blue pixel and green pixel). So there have two kinds of led lamp,  RGB lamp and DIP364 lamp. 

Bad quality led lamp may cause several problems, like 1: unconsistency in color which would cause different color block in screen. 2: unconsistency in brightness which gives bad visual effect, 3: unusual in white balance, 5: dead lamp, 6: short life span, and so on.

1:Nationstar, Nationstar is the most famous RGB lamp brand  in LED Screen. It has a full series of RGB lamp from SMD1212 to SMD3535, coving pixel pitch from 1.87mm to 20mm. It is well known for its stable quality, many of the screen that we sold with this lamp has been operated for more than 10 years, and the screen is still in good condition.

2: Kinglight, Kinglight was established in 2008, it not only has indoor and outdoor RGB lamp from SMD1212 to SMD3535, It also have a full series of small pixel pitch led lamp from pixel pitch 0.625mm to 1.5625mm by using COB technology.

3: Xinda, Xinda was established in 2007, It is mainly focus on the development of led package and applications, It has some identical product that its lamp have higher brightness version which can offer a higher brightness.

4: DSBJ, Dsbj was Established in 1980, DSBJ’s LED unit provides exceptional solutions for the HD electronic display industry. It not only offers led  chip, it also produce many other product like led light, and consume electronic products.

5: Ledman, Ledman was established in 2004, Ledman was first a led package company, that offer RGB lamp. Now it also have its own  brand in led screen and led lighting area.

6: Hongsheng（Sanan), Hongshen is  a joint venture of  Hubei Government and Sanan( The biggest LED chip manufacturer in China), Hongsheng is mainly focus on RGB led chip.

There also have hundred of other led chip manufacturer in China, Normally we would suggest not to use unknown brand. and the price difference between different brand can be huge. So when ask about the led screen’s price, it is better to noticed the led lamp.

 

IC: Apart from the led lamp, IC chip is the second most important component in led screen. It not only determine the refresh rate, greyscale,  brightness(scan mode), but also takes up a big portion in led screen’s price. For every screen, As all the led lamp are powered by IC chip, so it would need a huge amount of IC chip.  For example for a pixel pitch 4mm led screen. If it is using scan mode 1/8( check here to see more about scan mode) for 1 sqm of led scree, it would in need of 1000/4*1000/4=62500pcs led lamp. As each lamp would three different color, So the total IC would be needed are 62500*3/16/8=1465pcs. Hence IC chip’s price can also affect the led screen’s price a lot.

Chipone: Chipone has the biggest led screen IC chip market share of 36%. It offers full IC solutions for LED display, LCD display, and OLED display. Its product range from high end high refresh rate IC, to low refresh rate IC. Was well know for its stable performance and quality.

 

Macroblock: Macroblock is the wolrd-leading led driver IC provider, Now has the second biggest IC chip market share of 20%. It has a very good reputation in the market, and the price of Mblock is also more expensive comparing with other brand with the same specs.

 

Sunmoon. Sunmoon was founded in 2009, It offers full range of LED Screen IC. Now it has the Third biggest market share of LED screen IC market share of 13%.

 

Fine made: Fine made was founded in 2001, Finemade’s price is a little cheapper than the three above. Now it has the fourth biggest market share of led screen IC.  It also have a full range if IC product that covering the high refresh IC to low refresh IC. It’s main customer has Leyard, unilumin, hikvision and so on.

 

There are hunderds of other IC chip manufacturer in the market, While for normal application, we would suggest use the above brands. Using bad quality IC chip would cause a lot problems like, bad greyscale, unstable refresh rate, unstable image, image loose and sometimes even cause fire.

 

Switch Power supplier: Switch Power supplier is the third important component in led screen. As the led lamp are well know for its long life span, So we also need to select a good quality power supplier to make it work smoothly.  Switch Power supplier is also the most important component in passing different certificates, such as CE for Europe, UL for North Amercia, SAA for Oceania market, ect.

HWA-power：HWA-power was founded in 2011, while now it has become a top brand in LED screen power supplier. It is well known for its stable performance and stable quality during any environment. Companies like ROE, unilumin,Leyard are using its power supplier.

 

Goldpower: Goldpower was established in 1995, a leading excellence integrated power supply solutions partner in the industry. It’s power supplier. Its power supplier are with very good quality, Has a very good reputation among customers. We have many customer thathas been using the power supplier for more than 10 years, and the screen is still functioning well.

 

Meanwell: Meanwell is a world famous power supplier company, especially in its LED lamp’s diver. While in the led screen industry, Meanwell has less reputation than Hwa and Goldpower, and the price of Meanwell is also a little expensive than Hwa and goldpower.

 

Cabinet torroence: Gap and uneven surface are the most common flaws that are very easy to notice. Gaps between modules or cabinet would appear in brighter seam or darker seam, uneven surface would reduced viewing angle and also uneven brightness. Those would cause a very bad visual experience.  As the led screen are spliced up with cabinets, can each cabinet are spliced with modules. Hence the torroence of the cabinet, and the torroence in the cabinet becomes a very important factor to determine how the screen would be look like. As their are different materials of cabinet, normally the die-cast frame would have the best precsion, and the section bar would have a less precsion which also means, if the company is using section bar material as frame, you would need to pay more attention about the torrence of the frame.

 

PCB board: PCB board is actually an important factor in LED Screen while most people would neglect, as this factor is not that easy to observe. There are four layers of PCB board, two layers of PCB board, one layer of PCB board. More layers of the PCB more expensive the PCB it is. You may as why you need four layers of LED Screen when two layers of PCB board is also OK? While as the LED Screen consumes a lot of electricity, and all the electricity are passed through the lines on the PCB board. When using two layers of PCB board, It would have a tighter space than the four layers PCB board to layout the line. Hence when carry the same electricity, two layer pcb board would have thinner line, which means bigger resistence also means it is more easy to raise temperture. In some conditions, the pcb board would even cause fire. and the lower layer pcb board would also have a short life span than four layer PCB board.

 

Control system: There are many control system in China. Such as Nova star, Color led, Linsn, kstar，moer. And different control system, may have some feature difference. For example, now novastar has the biggest market share of the control system, while in specially shape screen, such as Spherical screen, novastar can not have a good performance, and the image on the screen would become distort.
