The main purpose of cleaning the LED Screen is to remove the dust that accumulated on the surface of the screen. Or the dust that inside the cabinets.
Currently, we have three different technologies indoor led display, SMD led display, GOB led display and COB-led display. Different technology led display need to use different clean method. You can use the below method to achieve such goal.
In SMD led display, SMD led lamp’s surface is exposed to air, Hence when we clean the screen surface, we should avoid any tough materials in cases of scratches, or use water. As normally it is dust on the screen surface or inside the cabinet. Hence we suggest clean the SMD led display with the following method.
1: Use a blower:
1.1: Remove the led boards from the cabinet, then use the leaf blower to blow away the dust inside the cabinet. Then put the led boards back on ( Notice: Suggest that clean the cabinet every two years, or you can clean it depending on your actual working environment)
1.2: Use the blower to blow away (do not contact the surface of the screen) the dust that accumulated on the surface of the led screen, remember to blow the led screen with the same direction. (Notice: Suggest to clean the surface of the screen once a year, or you can clean it depending on your actual working environment)
2: Use a Vacuum cleaner:
1.1: Use the Vacuum cleaner to suck away the dust on the surface of the screen. Do it gently. (Notice: Suggest to clean the surface of the screen once a year, or you can clean it depending on your actual working environment)
1.2:Remove the led boards from the cabinet, then use the Vacuum to suck away the dust inside the cabinet. Then put the led boards back on ( Notice: Suggest that clean the cabinet every two years, or you can clean it depending on your actual working environment)
Notice: Do not use wet towel to clean it, and do all the cleaning after the screen is powered off.
GOB and COB all have a glue layer on the surface of the LED boards, which prevent the led boards from water, dust and moisture. And normally the surface of the GOB and COB led display can reach IP65. Hence it is more easy to clean GOB and COB led display than to clean SMD led display.
You can use the following method to clean the GOB and COB led display.
1: Clean the GOB or COB led display’s surface
1.1 Use a moist towel to clean the surface of the GOB or COB led display’s surface.
1.2 Use a blower to blow away the dust of the surface of the GOB or COB’s led display surface
1.3 Use Vacuum cleaner to clean the dust on the screen surface.
2: Clean the cabinet’s inside of the GOB or COB led display
2.1: we can use a blower to blow away the dust inside the cabinet.
2.2: we can use a Vacuum cleaner to suck away the dust inside the cabinet.
Notice: Please do all the cleaning after the screen is powered off.
Normal maintenance of the led display
LED display is a delicate piece of equipment with many components, to make it maintain good condition, we need to use and maintain it regularly. Below is the normal maintenance procedure.
1: Cleaning regularly, LED display should be cleaned regularly, to maintain good visual effect.
2: Do not use it 24-7, LED display can generate a lot of heat, hence when use it for a long time without stop, it would shorten the life span of the led display. You sould keep the led display off on a regular bases.
3: Avoid moisture and water. Avoid using under a moist environment, and if it is the rainny season, you should light up the led display from time to time to push the moisture away from the led display.
4: Should use a steady frame to secure the led display.
5: Check the power cable and signal cable regularly
Conclusion
Though LED display is well known for its long life span, we still need to maintain the led display from time to time to keep the led display a good working condition and present a good visual effect.
