1:What diameter do you need? ( Visual effect 0, Quality 0, Price 5,Maintenance 0)
This is normally the first question we would ask when it comes to Sphere led display, as the diameter of the sphere determine the area size of the led display, also determine the price. The sphere’s display area = 4*Pi *Radius*Radius, For the formula we would see that the price change with diameter is not linear but proportional to the square. As a professional Sphere led display manufacturer, We have made a lot different sizes and pixel pitch led sphere over the years. (normally if you want to buy a sphere size that we have not produced before, we would need to do redesign the sphere’s led boards, make new tooling, the price would go up and also takes longer time). Below are the sizes and pixel pitch we already made.
Indoor version:

Sometimes, we have customer ask us, if we can make some particular sizes such as 20cm, actually we can make this size, but we will not choose to make it, as this is a economical question not a technical one. And for big size, we can all customize it, both indoor or outdoor.
2: Is it for indoor or outdoor? ( Visual effect 3, Quality 0, Price 4,Maintenance 4)
The reason that we ask this question is that, indoor version and outdoor version led display are totally different types, they are different everywhere, from design concept to the materials that used.
The most distinguish difference between outdoor led sphere and indoor sphere led display, is that outdoor version need to be waterproof(anti-UV, anti-wind, anti-salt) and high brightness(readable under sunlight). To make it waterproof, Outdoor version is using outdoor grade led lamp (which also have high brightness), and would also filled the led boards with glue, then the outdoor version is heavy then indoor version which need a heavier frame.
To make it anti-wind, we need to use screw to fix the led boards on the cabinet, Screw has sizes which means the pixel pitch need to be bigger enough to place the screw holes, and that’s the reason that normally the smallest pixel pitch for sphere outdoor version LED display is normally starts from 4.8mm (as the sphere only can do front service, while other normal outdoor led display is able to do back service, hence they can place screw on the back, which makes the normal version outdoor led display can have a smaller pixel pitch.
Because the outdoor version sphere led display starts with bigger pixel pitch which also means lower resolution, hence the visual effect is normally not that sharp as indoor version. And the price wise, actually for the size diameter sphere led display, though the indoor sphere has smaller pixel pitch but normally the price level would similar.
3:What content you want to display? ( Visual effect 3, Quality 0, Price 3,Maintenance 0)
This is classic question we would ask our customer when we know that our customer does not have much experience in LED display. Similar question also have
1:what resolution do you need?
2:How far is the expecting viewing distance from the customer to the sphere?
The reason for asking those question is that we want to know what kind of visual effect the customer is expecting. For example,if the customer want to display words, then it does not need high resolution, hence high pixel pitch is acceptable.
The customer want to display HD videos, then it would need high resolution, hence low pixel pitch is needed
The customer want to have a wide viewing angle, then we would suggest the customer to use COB or GOB solution.

4:Hanging installation or Stacking installation?( Visual effect 0, Quality 0, Price 0,Maintenance 0)
For the Sphere LED Display it has two popular installation way, Hanging installation or stacking installation. Actually for our Sphere LED display, in the beginning of the design, we already have made a hanging hook within the sphere supporting structure, Hence the Sphere led display can be both Hanging or Stacking installation. The reason that we would ask this is because the hanging installation way have a different installation direction comparing with the stacking installation way. As the LED lamp has RGB direction, which makes the led boards also need to have installation direction, otherwise, the color appears on the led display would not be the same, which would affect the visual effect greatly. For the Sphere LED Display, Normally we only have one type round shape led board, and this round shape led board determine the led boards’ direction. For example, if it is stacking installation, then the round shape led boards is placed on the top, then the led boards’ arrow direction need to toward up, and if it is a hanging installation, then the round shape led board is placed on the bottom, then the led board’s direction should be toward downwards.
Then even though we sphere has a hanging ring within, but the installation way is determined in the beginning, and the led boards in the up semisphere looks the same as the down semisphere, but the direction is totally different, which need to pay notice on the direction of the led boards
5:Is it a fixed installation or you would move it from place to place?(Visual effect 0, Quality 0, Price 2,Maintenance 0)
For the Sphere LED Display, most application is fixed installation, while there also have customer that want to use it for rental use. The assembling process of the sphere led display is very hard, it takes a lot of time to assemble the sphere as well as disassemble it. Besides, constantly assemble and disassemble the led boards also would short the lifespan of the led boards as the circuit within the PCB can not tolerate bending too many times.
Hence if you need to move it from place to place, then I would suggest you to buy a sphere with diameter no greater than 1.5m, as diameter 1.5m sphere is the biggest size possible to be able to packed within one flight case. With size around 175*175*205 weight around 450kg. The benefit of diameter 1.5m is that this can be a turnkey solution plug and play, Below is an image of diameter 1.5m sphere packed in a flight case. We customized the flight case so that it has a slope that the sphere can be move to and out the flight case easily.
6:How to use sphere led display, does it need customized content?
For all led display, actually you can just consider it to be a normal LCD display. It has a sending box (we also call it video processor/led controller) which has HDMI/DVI/DP interface, that you just plug in the video source, and the sphere is ready to display. The sending box has an algorithm within to auto compress the content to fit on the sphere led display. 7:What’s the production time?
For some best seller types, we have stock, for example, diameter 1m, 1.2m, 1.5m and 2m, pixel pitch 2.5mm, 2mm, and 1.86mm. But the stock we have is using default specs ( not high standard version)
If we do not have stock, normally it takes around 25days to produce, and normally we would suggest you to purchase high specs version. Reason is that those default specs one is mainly for domestic market. And it is very easy for domestic customer to send back the led boards to repair, while for overseas customer this process is hard. Hence we would suggest to use high specs version and you also should purchase more spare parts.
8:Can you assist the installation?
Yes, we do offer service in assisting the installation. We have 3 options
Option1: We can do remote assistance, we can arrange video call, conference meeting to assistance, and before shipping, we would also record videos to show all the important and key steps for you.
Option 2: We can dispatch 1 engineer to assist the installation, Your company would need to bear all the air tickets, accommodations, Visa cost, plus a labour cost of around 300USD/day
Option3: We can dispatch a team of 3-4 engineer to assist the installation, Your company would need to bear all the air tickets, accommodations, Visa cost, plus a labour cost of around 350USD/day/per person.
Normally we would suggest to go with Option 1 or Option 2, as the working Visa is not easy to get.
9:Does your company sell to xx country?
This answer is always yes, as we are a mature factory that has been in this business for a long time. So we do sell to any countries. For example, Switzerland is a landlock country and also not a member to the EU, hence shipping by sea to Switzerland is not easy, but as we have been in the business for a very long time, we have such forwarder partners that can handle all the troubles.
10:Can you make xx sizes?
We can make any size you want ( diameter over 30cm), But normally we suggest you to go with what we have made before. As making a new size, it means we need to make several new tooling which is expensive and also takes longer time.
